The full story of....

Eunice And Elaine’s Fortune

Once upon a time, there lived 2 young ladies, by the name of Eunice and Elaine. Eunice and Elaine were very close sisters and no one can ever separate them apart. They were always side by side and no one could ever see one without the other. Even though it is an emergency, they would still be together, never separated.

One day, 2 young men from a faraway country came to their small town to set up a business. The 2 young men were best friends and sworn brothers. The names of the 2 young men were called Eugene and Calvin. Eugene was older so he was the older brother and since Calvin was younger he was the younger one.

One cold and rainy morning, the 2 inseparable sisters went into town to do some shopping. Meanwhile, the 2 sworn brothers were hiking in the woods, taking a break from their intensive business. Suddenly, thunder rocked the whole town and it began to rain cat and dogs. As they had forgotten to bring their raincoats along, they had to find somewhere for shelter. They started looking everywhere but still could not find any shelter. Desperate, they went down the hill and happened to chance upon Eunice’s and Elaine’s empty house.

Creeping stealthily to the front door, the two brothers knocked on the door and no one answered, even after several knocks. They wanted to just open the door and get in, but since they were honest men, they did not want the owners to assume that they were thieves. So they decided to leave and look for another house to find shelter.

On Eugene’s and Calvin’s long and tedious way down the hillside, they passed by 2 beautiful and young ladies, who were actually Eunice and Elaine. Eunice and Elaine were shopping at the market when it started to rain. Since the rain and the wind were very strong, since they brought their umbrellas along, they did not want to get drenched, so they came back up the hillside to get home.

Eunice and Elaine looked at the 2 young men curiously. Since the 2 young men were drenched, they looked like 2 wet chickens. They looked very funny and hilarious. However Eunice and Elaine were very kindhearted and helpful ladies. So when they saw that the 2 young men were drenched from head to toe and bedraggled, they decided to help them.

Eunice and Elaine went forward and offered to let them come to their house to clean up. Eugene and Calvin looked at each other and nodded their heads in agreement. On their way to Eunice and Elaine’s house, they asked the 2 young men why they were so drenched and dirty. They replied that they were hiking in the woods when it started to rain. However due to their carelessness, they forgot to bring their raincoats just in case it rained.

Upon reaching Eunice and Elaine’s house, they cleaned up and got ready to leave. However, when they were ready to leave, Elaine asked them to stay for lunch. The 2 young men did not want to get so much help from the 2 ladies, as they thought they would trouble them. So they rejected the offer. However, Elaine persisted and the 2 young men had no choice but to accept the offer.

Before the 2 young men left, they turned to Eunice and Elaine and said, “Thank you for your help.” Eunice and Elaine shook their heads, representing that they do not mind.

When the 2 young men left, Eunice and Elaine went back to the living room of their house. Just as Eunice was about to put some logs into the fireplace, she spotted a small cloth bag on the coffee table. She called Elaine over and opened the bag.

Dear ladies,
Thank you for your help. We are very grateful for it. There are some gold and silver coins inside the cloth bag. That is our repayment for the help that you gave us. Please accept them.
Eugene and Calvin
There was a short note inside and a some gold and silver coins. The note read:

Eunice and Elaine looked at each other with big smiles on each of their faces. Looks like help is kindly rewarded!
